Flea Market Friday! What we found this week...

Floral oil painting ...
"I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck" said Emma Goldman, but if you can't have them on your table then hanging on your wall comes a close second- and definitely lasts longer!

Flea Market Friday...

Old furniture polish pots! Aren't they fabulous?!

They are all in various shades of periwinkle blue, I believe the polish was lavender scented, so they have that wonderful lavender blue hue to them. Some are prettily faded and some remain perfectly bright, either way we think they are wonderful. In fact, we are so in love with them that we have now added them to our website,  you can buy them here

I'm not sure what kind of hat was kept in this box but I can only imagine that it was very easily rollable!  Its is now serving as a storage box and I just love it! Look at all those beautiful fonts ahhh...

The Icing on the Cake

Bunting on a cake must be one of the most happy sights of all time!  I really wanted to try to make some so went ahead with some pretty scraps of fabric I had laying around, it is a great way to use up those little scraps that you can't bare to throw away but are too tiny to do anything useful with!  Right, now I just needed a cake to put the bunting on.... feeling inspired by the wonderful Rosie of sweetapolita, I thought I would try her ruffled celebration cake ... and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it went! Ok, its not a patch on hers but for my first go I'm pretty happy...I just can't bare to cut into it though!
